Technology

  • The Technology Department consists of professionals dedicated to technology systems and processes necessary to support the educational mission of the Conestoga Valley School District. We are responsible for the management and oversight of all forms of technology in the district.  This list includes hardware, software, classroom technology integration, networking, telecommunications, student data, and security.

     

    There are currently 4300 computers and mobile devices deployed throughout the district, consisting of desktop, laptop and tablet computers that are all networked and have Internet services. Student laptops are individually assigned on a 1:1 basis for all students in grades 5-12.  Laptops and iPads are available for student use in grades K-4, also at a 1:1 ratio. There are three TV studios in the district: at the high school, middle school and Smoketown Elementary School. The district provides and array of technologies in the classroom, including tablets, laptops, and interactive whiteboards/projectors. Classroom technology is intended to support the 21st Century skills of Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication.  CVSD has apopted the online learning management system, Schoology, for use with students throughout the district.  The district’s technology infrastructure is maintained by nine full-time employees and supports some 5,000 users.  Network connectivity between buildings is at a mimimum of 1 Gbps and bandwith out to the internet is in the process of being upgraded to 10 Gbps (from the current 1 Gbps connection). Wireless network access is available in all instructional spaces thoughout the district (and in many non-instructional spaces).

Tech Mission Statement

  • It is the mission of the CVSD Information Technology Department to provide all district stakeholders with proactive technology support and service for administrative and instructional purposes aimed at the overall goal of student achievement. This shall be accomplished through targeted staff development as well as prompt, courteous and effective interactions with each stakeholder.
