April 21, 2022

In June of 2021, Sydney Figueroa - an eighth grader at Gerald G. Huesken Middle School at the time - passed away unexpectedly.

Her family is looking to continue Sydney's legacy of being both a talented artist and someone who continuously gave back to her community.

Sydney's family has set up an Etsy store to showcase and sell some of Sydney's artwork in the form of stickers and t-shirts.

All proceeds will go to several of Sydney's favorite causes: animal shelters, helping the homeless, and creating art kits for kids in the hospital.

In honor of Earth Day (which is tomorrow!), the CVHS Green Team participated in a campus-wide cleanup during Wednesday's flex period.

Students weeded, planted flowers, and gathered three bags of trash and one bag of recyclables during the cleanup.

Conestoga Valley's online bulletin board is designed to assist community nonprofit groups in the CV area to communicate important information in an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective way. Throughout the school year, we'll highlight new announcements, registration information, and more in this newsletter.

This week, information was added about a field hockey youth clinic being held at CV this summer!

The annual High School Spring Choir, Band & Orchestra Concert is scheduled for Thursday, May 5, at 7 p.m. in the CVHS auditorium.

But before you head indoors, be sure to check out the food trucks and grab some dinner before the concert! Four food trucks will be located outside the main entrance of the high school from 4 - 7 p.m.

And you can eat guilt-free because 10 percent of the sales will go to the CV Music Department!

Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-23 school year is officially open!

The Leola TAG Team (PTO) is hosting an Annual Fun Run for its students TOMORROW! This event is a fun way to help reach annual budget goals to support field trips, assemblies, classroom supplies, playground equipment, and special events.

Family members and friends can sponsor students for a day of friendly competition to not only learn about the benefits of fitness but also calculate how far we can run/walk as an individual, class, grade, and school.

The goal is $8000!

If you would like to donate, please do so by clicking here (the donation will go directly to the school or organization and benefit all students. It will NOT be applied to an individual or specific student. If you know a Leola student and wish to donate on their behalf, please contact their parent/guardian for a link to their personal webpage)

Don't forget! PSSA testing begins on Monday, April 25 and runs through May 6 (including makeup dates) for students in grades 3-8.

Contact your building principal with any questions.

CVCCS's annual Summer Lunch Club is back again this summer and now it's back to "normal," meaning no more of the grab n' go style from the past two years of COVID.

In addition to meals, each site will offer fun and interactive activities such as games, Bible stories, songs, crafts, etc. Think of it is a mini vacation bible school environment!

Below are the four Summer Lunch Club sites; parents may also receive food, but children 18 and younger will be served first:

  • Flory Park: 416 Dohner Dr., Lancaster, PA 17602
  • Country Club Apartments: 323 Aaron Ln., Lancaster, PA 176101
  • West Earl Community Park: 189 S. State St., Leola, PA 17540
