Welcome Back!

Welcome to the start of the 2022-23 school year! We hope everyone had a healthy, safe, and FUN summer break!

Earlier this month, our Back-to-School packet was emailed to all district families and posted on our website. We hope that you will look over the information carefully and contact either the District Office or your building principal with any questions.

Let's have a great year!

Photo of the Week

It's always good to see a familiar face on your first day of school! A Brownstown student embraces her former teacher, Ms. Brubaker, as she makes her way to her new classroom.

New Year, New Look

In case you missed it, the CV website got a fresh look just in time for the new school year! Don't worry, none of the previous information went anywhere; everything on the previous site carried over to the new site.

Be on the lookout for a video tour of the new site highlighting some of the new features, navigation, and more!

School Meal Information

A reminder to our families - the Universal Free Meal Waiver expired on June 30, 2022. The Conestoga Valley School District will be following the National School Lunch Program for the 2022-23 school year. All parents/guardians are encouraged to complete the Meal Benefit Free and Reduced Application on the CV Food Service website under Free and Reduced Lunch.

More information was included in the Back-to-School packet.

Conestoga Valley's online bulletin board is designed to assist community nonprofit groups in the CV area to communicate important information in an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective way. Throughout the school year, we'll highlight new announcements, registration information, and more in this newsletter.

Middle School Update

We are excited to open the doors to our brand new middle school!

The team at Gerald G. Huesken Middle School has worked hard to put together a plan that will allow the district to open the new building with a focus on the learning community and safety of the students and staff.

The school year will begin with a staggered start (this applies ONLY to the middle school) in order to provide a thorough orientation of the new building for each student, with additional staff available for students on their first day of school. Visit the CVSD homepage for all the details.

Pre-K Opportunity!

Florida Sands

A pre-kindergarten program funded by the PA Department of Education Office of Child Development and Early Learning is now being offered to qualifying CV elementary families in partnership with the Owl Hill Learning Centers based in Lititz. The classes are staffed by PA State certified early childhood teachers and qualified early childhood teaching assistants. Students attend the program for five and a half hours each day (8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) for 180 days of instruction, following the Conestoga Valley School District calendar. Materials and lunch are provided at no cost to families. Transportation is the responsibility of the family; no busing is offered for this program.
