Spaces Still Available!

Availability remains for CV families!

A pre-kindergarten program funded by the PA Department of Education Office of Child Development and Early Learning - and in partnership with Lititz-based Owl Hill Learning Centers - is available qualifying CV elementary families. The classes are staffed by PA State certified early childhood teachers and qualified early childhood teaching assistants. Students attend the program for five and a half hours each day (8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) for 180 days of instruction, following the Conestoga Valley School District calendar. Materials and lunch are provided at no cost to families.

PSAT Reminder

The PSAT will be held Saturday, October 15th at 7:30 a.m. at CVHS for students who wish to take this practice test. To register, please bring a check payable to CVSD for $25 to the counseling office by October 7th.

The PSAT is NOT required to take the SAT test in the spring. See your counselor if you have further questions

(This test is mostly for juniors or those sophomores advanced in math - currently in Alg 2).

Battle of the Bands

CV is hosting its annual Marching Band competition this Saturday, Sept. 17!


The show starts at 5:45 p.m. in the CVHS Stadium. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students/seniors. The show will feature bands from 10+ districts, including your own CV Marching Band, of course!


Concessions will be available for purchase with all proceeds supporting the CV Band Program.

The Conestoga Valley Wrestling program is hosting its first-ever Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, October 2 at CV High School! The event will be held on the practice fields behind Rill Gymnasium and is being held in conjunction with the program's annual Pork BBQ meal fundraiser.

An entry fee to the cornhole tournament includes a meal for each team member but meals can also be purchased without entering the event and picked up on the same date!

All proceeds from this event will help support the program for the upcoming season. To register and/or for more information, click here

Calling all CV students in grades K-6!

You are invited to compete in a FREE Elementary Run for Fitness on Thursday, Sept. 22 for a chance to compete in a county-wide meet. The run will be held from 5-6 p.m. at the CVHS track with awards to follow. Registration will take place from 3:30-4:45 p.m. at the track.

Students in grades K-1 will run a 1/4 mile and students in grades 2-6 will run a 1/2 mile. Top qualifiers will advance to the county meet on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m. at Garden Spot High School.

Back to School with the Barnstormers

Celebrate the start of a new school year with the Lancaster Barnstormers!


On Saturday, Sept. 17, all elementary, middle, and high school students get in free to the Barnstormers' home game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Parents and other family members are only $10/ticket. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m. and gates open at 5:30 p.m.

 

BULLETIN BOARD

Throughout the school year, we'll highlight new announcements, registration information, and more in this newsletter.



Middle School Update

At Monday night's board meeting, it was announced that the opening of the new middle school would be pushed exactly one week back to ensure our students and staff are able to safely get into their learning areas.

CVCCS Help Available

Cape Cod at its Finest

The Conestoga Valley School District has a close partnership with CVCCS which offers a variety of assistance to the community. Below is a brief overview of CVCCS's service; for more information, click the icon below!

Food & Nutrition:

Client choice food bank with a variety of non-perishables, meat, dairy, produce, & bakery to those in need who live or attend church in the CV School District and meet financial guidelines.

Clothing, Shoes, & Coats:

Client choice clothing bank serving residents of Lancaster County via referral from a church, school, or agency.

Rooted Afterschool Mentoring:

1-on-1 Christian mentoring for at-risk 4th-6th graders at Smoketown Elementary, via referral by the school and parental permission.

Weekend Blessings:

Provides students in the CV School District referred by the school with bundles of food to take home for the weekends.

Summer Lunch:

Serves three lunches a week at three locations in the CV School District from June through August. The meals are free and open to all children 18 and younger.

Back on Track Financial Coaching:

Assists those living “paycheck to paycheck” and the underemployed who don’t qualify for social services but are struggling to avoid homelessness caused by an unavoidable financial hardship.

Pairing adult clients with local churches to conquer the epidemic of loneliness.
