It was all smiles at Wednesday evening's Cruise the Halls event at the brand new middle school! Eighth grade students and families were invited to tour the new building; sixth and seventh grade students and families will get their turn tonight!

Calling CVHS Students & Parents

Next month, CVHS is hosting TWO opportunities for CV families to help navigate the financial aid process.

  • Monday November 7 – Financial Aid Presentation and PHEAA Representative (6 - 8 p.m.): CVHS is hosting its annual College Fair that evening from 6 - 8 p.m. That night, there will also be two identical financial aid sessions in the CVHS auditorium (6 and 7 p.m.) to explain the programs and processes of financial aid for college. In addition, Sonya Mann-McFarland (PHEAA representative) will be in the Rill Lobby with materials and an opportunity to answer any financial aid questions. Parents AND students of any grade level are welcome to attend all events this evening.
  • Wednesday November 9 – FAFSA Completion Lab (12 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.): Families are encouraged to set up an account at https://studentaid.gov/ and complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) during the months of October or November. For those experiencing any difficulties with the process, Sonya Mann-McFarland will be on campus during the day of Nov. 9 and available via Zoom in the evening to assist families in completing the FAFSA process (now open as of October 1). You must sign up for an appointment; space is limited (two families per time slot). Please click here to sign up for either an in-person or Zoom appointment. Parents, please bring an ID and your own device (ideally with FAFSA login information saved on it) to any in-person appointments.

This information can also be found on the CVHS homepage.

Florida Sands

Heads-up! Winter cheerleading tryouts are coming up quickly; they are scheduled for Nov. 1-2 in Uyeda Gym at the high school.

Community Announcement

Florida Sands

Just a friendly reminder that the public is welcome to enjoy the outdoor facilities at our schools - walking paths, track, etc. - but not during school hours or when facilities are being used by CV students and staff outside of school hours (i.e. after-school athletic events, before-school club meetings, etc.).

Support Dr. Smith!

Florida Sands

For the past several years, former middle school principal Denis Quirk spearheaded the annual Real Men Wear Pink fundraising campaign across the district.

With Mr. Quirk's departure, CVHS Principal Dr. Smith has graciously taken over!

There are a number of incentives up for grabs (we've heard rumors about pink tutus and a pink Mohawk...) for district staff and students who donate and/or when Dr. Smith reaches several of his fundraising goals.

But it's not limited to District participation! Anyone can donate any amount to Dr. Smith's fundraising efforts. Click here to access Dr. Smith's donation page!

CVHS Yearbook Information

Yearbooks are currently on sale for $75 until November 11! After that time, yearbooks will increase to $80, so be sure to order soon at JostensYearbooks.com (taxes and fees may apply).

They are self-adhesive and can be placed directly in the back of your yearbook. Spring supplements are an add-on that should be selected when you purchase your yearbook.
