The calendar to the left includes several important dates to remember this month. As always, a full district calendar can be found on the District homepage.

Photo of the Week

CVHS students Kenny Loiseau (pictured here), Jolaine Ngarama, and Nick Rivera have had the opportunity to participate in vocational instruction at Smokehouse BBQ every Thursday. Students prepare coleslaw, chow-chow, and bacon. Smokehouse BBQ is a new partnership this school year - we are extremely appreciative of all our local business partnerships who provide these excellent opportunities to our students!

CV CARES is Back!

Explore California

CV Cares is a decades-old program designed to recognize CV employees who have gone above and beyond to make our students, parents and guardians, and community members feel welcome and supported. The recognition could be for a single extraordinary event or an ongoing pattern of positive interaction and support.

If you have had the opportunity to be on the receiving end of this type of engagement, take a moment to fill out the online form to recognize that special educator. Remember, an educator is anyone who has the opportunity to positively impact the life of a child. As such, an educator can be a bus driver, secretary, custodian, teacher, cafeteria worker, school counselor, administrator, or any other support or professional staff associated with CV.

Community Partnership

Conestoga Valley and several local fire departments have teamed up to establish an internship program for CVHS students interested in learning about this very important public service. The Witmer, Lafayette, Bird-in-Hand, and Ronks fire departments have all come together to offer this opportunity to interested students.

Students will be educated on fundamentals of what it takes to become a firefighter. In addition, seniors and juniors will have the ability to train and run emergency service calls alongside local firefighters. There will be opportunities to intern both during and after the school day.

BULLETIN BOARD

Conestoga Valley's online bulletin board is designed to assist community nonprofit groups in the CV area to communicate important information in an environmentally-friendly and cost-effective way. Throughout the school year, we'll highlight new announcements, registration information, and more in this newsletter.

Earlier this month, information about CV Youth Basketball was added to the bulletin board!
