Preparing Students for Their Futures

In 2021, a three-year, district-wide comprehensive plan was approved. The plan had four main areas of focus, one of which was to “expand opportunities that mutually benefit our students and the community.”

Since the plan was approved, the District has taken several steps to expand partnership opportunities between the district and community organizations in an effort to prepare our CV students for their futures. The District has a robust internship program at the high school level; students have interned with organizations such as the Barnstormers and Universal Athletic Club. In the fall of 2022, an Industry Tour Day was organized by Mel Upton, Administrator for Non-Traditional Learning and Career Readiness. High school staff toured several local businesses and other local businesses came to the high school to speak with teachers about what skills and attributes they are looking for in new employees.

Staff at all grade levels in the district continue to work on seeking out new partnerships that benefit both the district and local organizations.
