    **Students are not limited to the number of award/scholarship applications they may submit and/or win.

    **Requirements and money amounts are subject to change. This information is based on previous award/scholarship years.

    ** Students/Parents should not limit their award/scholarships to the CVHS list. There are numerous opportunities that are not connected to our program.

     

    Memorial Scholarships

    Doug Althouse Memorial Foundation

    Award Amount: 2 for 1500.00 (or 1 for 3000)           Requirements: Application/Interview

    Seniors that were on the CVHS High School Football Team. Student has outstanding character, citizenship, and leadership skills.  (Determined by Family)

     

    Arashay Borden Memorial Award

    Award Amount: 500.00                      Requirements: NA

    Seniors are nominated and voted upon in the area of English.  The English Department determines the winner that demonstrates excellence within the area of English.

     

    CVHS Mathematics Excellence Award – In Honor of William Montgomery

    Award Amount: 1500.00                    Requirements: Application within Math Department

    A senior is chosen who is entering a math-intensive college major and career. The student must be an excellent math student at CVHS, exhibit excellent character/values, have a strong work ethic and willing to help other students. (Determined by Family & Math Department)

     

    Elias Fritz Memorial Scholarship

    Award Amount: 500.00                      Requirements: Application

    Awarded to a senior attending post-secondary education within the educational field. (Determined by Committee)

     

    Louise M. Henry Memorial Award

    Award Amount: 1000.00                    Requirement: Complete Senior Sheet

    Seniors are nominated and voted upon by the Science/Technology Department. Student must be entering post-secondary education in the field of Engineering. (Determined by Sci-Tech Department)

     

    Jeffrey Karr Scholarship

    Award Amount: 1000.00                    Requirements: Complete Senior Sheet

    Student pursuing a career in art or industrial arts (rotates each year). Nominated by department and voted upon by committee. (2018 – Industrial Arts)

     

    Justin LeFevre Memorial Scholarship

    Award Amount: 2000.00                    Requirements: Application and Interview

    Senior that played two consecutive years of Varsity Football and is continuing on for further education. Must demonstrate character, commitment, positive attitude, and leadership. Determined by family and friends.

     

    Lichty Memorial Scholarship

    Award Amount: 2 at 750.00               Requirements: Application

    Given to two seniors attending Harrisburg Area Community College or Thaddeus Stevens. Students are preferred to be in the top 25% and demonstrates a financial need. Determined by Awards Committee.

     

    Nicole Mathewson Memorial Scholarship

    Award Amount: 2 at 1000.00             Requirements: Application

    A senior that is entering post-secondary education.  An essay is to be written on a difficulty you have overcome.  This award is determined by the Brownstown Elementary Committee.

     

    Perry Pritchard – Center Award

    Award Amount: 2 at 750 or 1 for 1500          Requirements: Application

    Given to senior(s) that overcame obstacles to graduate from high school. This senior does not have to be attending schooling afterwards. They must have faced adversity and it is preferred if the student was in alternative placement, special education, had health issues, and/or cyber schooling. Candidates are narrowed to 5 and then submitted to the family to determine the winner(s).

     

    The Rill Medal of Honor

    Award Amount: 2 @ 1000.00             Requirement: Nominated by a District Staff Member

    At graduation, two students are awarded with the Rill Medal of Honor. These students are nominated by any district staff member and are representing Character, Citizenship, Academic Achievement, and participate in Extra Curricular achievements. (Determined by Administrators or Special Rill Committee)

    Given to one male and one female student that demonstrated leadership throughout their four years at CVHS. (Determined by Committee)

    Given to a student who has done well in high school but choosing a technical route as opposed to a four year degree.

     

    BPO Elks #134 Outstanding Volunteer Award – 2016 Requirements have Changed

    Award Amount: $500 to $1000

    Requirement: Complete Senior Sheet, volunteer resume, and ESSAY

    Student is nominated and voted by for their outstanding volunteer work documented within the senior sheets. (One winner determined by Committee and given to Elks for final vote. Compete with 6 other schools for two awards.)

     

    Brown Schultz Sheridan Fritz Accounting Award

    Award Amount: 150.00                                  Requirements: Attended Accounting Classes

    Given to a senior who has gone above and beyond in the area of accounting. They have demonstrated exceptional abilities and talents within this area.

     

    Conestoga Valley Christian Community Service (CVCCS) Award

    Award Amount: 500.00                      Requirements: Application

    Given to a senior with good standing with their peers, demonstrates leadership skills and contributes to their school and community.  They need to attend a post-secondary school and within the social services area. Determined by CVCCS Committee. 

     

    CV Ministerial Scholarship Award

    Award Amount: 1000.00                    Requirements: Application

    Given to a senior attending post-secondary education in the field (major/minor) of Christian Ministry or related field. Students are required to complete an application, essay, and a letter of reference. This scholarship will be determined by the CVM Church Committee.

     

    DUM Accounting Service Award

    Award Amount: 500.00                      Requirement: Business Education Student

    Given to a senior who is an outstanding business education student that has demonstrated outstanding performance in class as well to the department and school. (Determined by Business Department)

     

    Dale High Scholarship Award

    Award Amount: 3 @ 2000.00             Requirements:  Application

    Given to three seniors attending post-secondary education in the areas of business and/or engineering.  (Determined by Committee)

    Two seniors that were members of the Student Technology Team that exhibit commitment and service to CVHS and the computer program. (Determined by the Computer Department)

     

    The PhotOlé Photography Entrepreneurship Award

    Award Amount: 500.00                      Requirement: Create a Business Plan for Personal Business

    Awarded to a student that has started or dreams of starting their own business. The student must be attending a post-secondary institution, but it can be in any major. An application will be available with details on what is needed.

     

    Paradise Rotary Club Scholarship

    Award Amount: 2 @ 500.00               Requirements: Application

    Two seniors are selected that have school spirit, citizenship, and anticipates a vocational choice that fosters service to humanity. (Determined by Committee)

     

     PA School District Liquid Asset Fund Award

    Award Amount: 100.00                      Requirements: Accounting & Business Classes

    A senior is nominated and voted upon by the Business Department.  The student must be well-rounded and strong in the area of Accounting and Business.

     

    Pittsburgh Technical Institute Award

    Award Amount: 250.00                      Requirements: Completed Numerous Technology Classes

    A senior student is nominated and voted upon by the technology department.  A senior is chosen who is an outstanding technology education student.

     

    Upper Leacock Alumni Association Gold Collar Award

    Given to a senior that is attending a technical or trade school that exemplifies hard work, perseverance, and a desire to help the community. (Determined by Committee)

    A senior is nominated and voted upon their senior class that has good character, good attendance, positive attitude and is a mature/natural leader. This winner is strictly chosen by the senior class.

    A student is nominated by CVHS staff and voted on by committee to an individual that is an exemplary member of the senior class and attending post-secondary education. Student is well rounded academically, joins extracurricular activities, admired by peers, etc. (Determined by Committee)

     

    Upper Leacock Township War Memorial Association Award

    Award Amount: 4 for 1000.00                        Requirements: Complete Senior Sheet/Follow up

                                                                                        Phone/Email Conversation with Parent

    Two students that have a parent/guardian that served or has served in active duty is eligible for these awards.  Students complete a questionnaire and a follow up phone call is made to the residence to verify military experience. Committee bases recipients of this award on family’s military participation and character of the student. (Determined by Committee)

     

    West Earl Lions Club Family and Consumer Science Award

    Award Amount: 250.00                                  Requirements: Complete Numerous FCS classes

    Chosen by the FCS department to a student that is proficient in the field of Family and Consumer Science (Determined by Department)

     

    West Earl Lions Club Industrial Technology Award

    Award Amount: 2 @ 250.00               Requirements: Complete numerous technology classes

    Chosen by the Industrial Arts Department and given to a student(s) that has been proficient within the field of Industrial Arts.

     

    Witmer Fire Company Science Award

    Chosen by the Science Department, a senior student is selected for excellence in the study of chemistry.

     CV Senior Mentorship Award

    Given to an outstanding senior who volunteered and was a member time during their CVHS years to be a mentor to students and or was a mentee within the Mentoring program at CVHS. (Determined by Mentor Program)

     

    Conestoga Valley Education Association

    Award Amount: 4000.00 (1000.00/year)                   Requirement: Application

    CV Teacher Association sponsors this scholarship annually.  It is presented at graduation and is determined by a CVEA Committee.  Any senior may apply. Essays are required along with a list of extracurricular activities, leadership roles, etc. (Given at Graduation)

     

    CVHS Art Award

    Award Amount: 200.00                      Requirements: Attend Numerous Art Classes

    Students must have attended several art classes at CVHS.  The art department faculty nominates and votes upon one senior that has outstanding performance within their classes.

     

    CVHS BUCKSKIN Award

    A senior is recognized who is well-rounded: active in school activities, demonstrates leadership qualities, and does well within the classroom. (Determined by Committee)

    CVHS Health and Physical Education Award of Excellence

    Award Amount: 100.00                      Requirements: Nominated by Health/PE Faculty

    A senior is selected and nominated by the PE/Health Department.  The student has excellence in the field of health and physical education.

     

    CVHS Inspirational Award

    Award Amount: 2 @ 100.00               Requirement: Student within Special Education

    Students are nominated and voted upon by the entire Special Education Department within the District. Students can be in any special education program and be inspirational in academics, behaviorally, or transitionally.

     

    CVHS Library Service Award

    Award Amount: 100.00                      Requirement: Student Service within Library

    A senior student is selected by the CVHS library staff for their support to CVHS library and effectively utilizing the resources and services

     

    CVHS Mathematics Achievement Award

    A senior student is nominated and voted upon by the mathematics department. A senior is chosen who enjoys and appreciates learning mathematics and shows interest within the area.

    CV Middle School Award

    Students must have attended 7th and 8th grade at CVMS and will be attending a post-secondary school. Students must be within the Top 20% of their class. (List given to CVMS Committee)

     

    Conestoga Valley Nursing Award (CVEF)

    Award Amount: 2000.00                    Requirements: Complete Senior Sheet/Application

    A senior pursuing a career in the nursing field.  The student is selected with the help of the Health Club advisor and award’s committee.

     

    Conestoga Valley Science Award of Excellence

    Award Amount: 2 at 100.00               Requirements: Completed Numerous Science Classes

    Seniors are nominated and voted upon by the faculty of the CVHS Science Department.  Seniors are chosen from their academic levels and passion towards science.

     

    Conestoga Valley Staff and Faculty’s American Dream Award

    Award Amount: 500.00 or 2 @ 250.00                       Requirements: Nominated by Staff Member

    A staff member nominates a senior student that have overcome great obstacles to achieve their education. A designated American Dream committee reads the nominations and decides upon the winners.

    Award Amount: Each at 200.00          Requirements: Attend Multiple Language Classes

    Seniors are nominated and voted upon by the Foreign Language Department in the following areas:

    A male and female student are nominated by the awards committee that demonstrates the three C’s of CV:  Character, Community, and Commitment. Students must have a strong demonstration in leadership and academic ability. Students nominated are confirmed by the superintendent.

    Army Reserve Scholar/Athlete Award

    Given to two students with excellence in academics and athletics. (Determined by Athletic Department and Committee)

     

    Lancaster County Historical Society Award

    Award:  One Year Family Membership           Requirements: Interest in Local History

    Given to a senior who has yinterest in Local History and is a lively participant within history classes. (Determined by History Department)

     

    President’s Award for Educational Achievement

    Award: Pin and Certificate                             Requirements: Complete Senior Sheet

    Ten to Fifteen students are determined by the awards committee for this award.  Seniors earned the respect of their teachers through outstanding educational effort and/or positive change throughout their years at CVHS. (Determined by Committee)

     

    United States Marine Corp Awards

    Award: Certificate – 1-2 Students are selected for each of the following awards:

    1. Scholastic Excellence Award (Determined by Committee) – Scholastic excellence
    2. Semper Fidelis Award (Determined by Music Department) – Excellence in music
    3. Distinguished Athletic Award (Determined by Athletic Department) – Distinguished athlete
