Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS) Program

  • Gerald G. Huesken Middle School has adopted a proactive approach to discipline which is based on teaching, modeling and acknowledging appropriate behaviors as well as reteaching and redirecting students displaying inappropriate behavior. The system of Positive Behavior Support will increase our capacity to reduce school disruptions, and educate all students including those with problem behaviors through the following:

    • Clearly defined expectations
    • Research-validated practices
    • Supportive administrative systems
    • Use of data for problem solving

Expected behavior is summarized in the Buckskin Behavior Matrix and in the graphics posted below.

Positive behavior is acknowledged in these ways.
