Alouisa Appointed as Principal at Leola Elementary
The Conestoga Valley School Board approved the appointment of Taylor Alouisa as the next principal of Leola Elementary at its June 20 meeting. Alouisa was hired following the retirement Dr. Colleen Pavlovec in the spring of 2022. Alouisa’s official start date at Leola Elementary is July 1, 2022.
“Ms. Alouisa is an exceptional educator, and she has been an outstanding addition to the CV leadership team this year,” said Dr. Jill Koser, Conestoga Valley’s Assistant to the Superintendent for Elementary Education. “Her positivity, focus on the whole child, and commitment to partnerships with families will be central in her support of the Leola community.”
Alouisa spent the 2021-22 school year serving as an assistant principal at CV’s Fritz and Smoketown Elementary Schools and was then named the Interim Principal at Smoketown Elementary in February 2022 after the resignation of Dr. Sally Bredeman.
In her first year at CV, Alouisa was involved in curriculum and planning implementation, served on the District’s Profile of a CV Learner committee, and utilized a “whole child” approach to monitor and support students’ needs.
Prior to her arrival at CV, Alouisa spent 11 years as a kindergarten and first grade teacher in the Bloomsburg Area School District. She served as the Educational Facilitator for Bloomsburg’s online learning program, acted as a cooperating teacher for college-level education students each year since 2015, and was a member of the school data team that analyzed student and district data which helped drive instruction and enhance learning.
Alouisa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Lock Haven University and went on to receive her Master’s of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Bloomsburg University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University.
