CVSD Again Named A Best Community for Music Education
The Conestoga Valley School District has again been recognized by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as a 2023 Best Community for Music Education, a designation from the NAMM Foundation for outstanding commitment to music education.
Now in its 24th year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.
CV’s music department staff designs curriculum and instruction that is aligned with the unique and changing needs of its students. CV’s music educators have extensive training in Orff, Kodaly, First Steps, Conversational Solfege, Soundtrap, Noteflight, TI:ME, and VoiceNetwork.
In addition, grants from the Conestoga Valley Education Foundation (CVEF) have given students and staff unique opportunities not otherwise available in the district’s regular budget, including an audio production lab and ukuleles.
To qualify for the Best Communities designation, CVSD provided information regarding funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs.
