The Conestoga Valley School Board of Directors officially appointed Dr. Matthew Fox as the next principal of Conestoga Valley High School at the district’s May 8 school board meeting.

This marks Fox’s second stint at Conestoga Valley; Fox previously served as assistant principal at CVHS from 2016-2020.

Fox most recently served as the assistant principal at Garden Spot Middle School beginning in December 2020. In addition to his daily assistant principal duties at Garden Spot Middle School, which is home to students in grades 7-8, Fox was also a building coach for the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Team and the district’s School Safety and Security Coordinator. Fox was also tasked with overseeing the science, technology education, and agriculture education departments for grades 7-12 and was the secondary campus school assessment coordinator for state assessments. In addition, Fox served as the coordinator for the district’s Threat Assessment Team, Act 158 Team, and Act 13 team.

As an assistant principal at CVHS, Fox was the coordinator of the district’s Safety Task Force and supervised the Conestoga Valley Virtual Academy (CVVA) as well as the science, mathematics, and technology education departments at the high school level. He also served as the coordinator of the high school’s Student Assistance Program (SAP), and implemented three College in the High School (CHS) courses, in addition to numerous other responsibilities.

Fox previously spent time as a biology and chemistry teacher at Penn Manor.

Fox earned a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Millersville University and went on to receive his Master of Education degree in Leadership for Teaching and Learning, also from Millersville. Fox then earned his educational doctorate degree from Immaculata University.
