Six CVHS Student-Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

Six Conestoga Valley High School senior student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

Leah Buch will attend Division I St. Joseph’s University to play soccer for the Hawks. Buch was a three-year starter at defense/midfield for the Buckskins and served as team captain. She was named a Lancaster-Lebanon (L-L) League All-Star as both a junior and a senior. Buch is a member of the National Honor Society and played soccer for the PA Classics Soccer Academy. She intends to major in exercise physiology at St. Joseph’s. 

Alaina Culbert has committed to playing field hockey at Division II Millersville University. Culbert was a three-year varsity starter as a forward for CV. This past fall, she was named a L-L League First-Team Section I All-Star and an Academic All-Star. Culbert was a member of CV teams that qualified for districts in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Culbert is a member of CV’s National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and played field hockey with the Spooky Nook Field Hockey Academy. Culbert plans to major in communications at Millersville.

Rebecca Hartranft will attend Division II Millersville University to play volleyball for the Marauders. Hartranft was a four-year varsity starter as an outside hitter for the Buckskins. She is a three-time L-L League Section I All-Star as well as a Second Team District All-Star. Hartranft’s teams qualified for district playoffs three out of four years and qualified for the L-L League playoffs twice, finishing with the best four-year record since 2009. Hartranft spent two years on the CV girls basketball team and is also a three-year member of the softball team. She was a two-time L-L League First-Team All-Star in softball and was named Second-Team All-State in the sport in 2022. Hartranft intends to major in sport administration at Millersville.

Riley Houck has committed to playing soccer at Division I Fairfield University. Houck was the varsity goalie for CV as a sophomore and junior. She is a member of the Penn Fusion Soccer Academy, played for the Development Academy for three years, and also spent three years with the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL). Houck intends to major in public health with a minor in health studies at Fairfield.

Sophia Livingston will attend Division I Kent State University to continue her field hockey career. A midfielder for the Buckskins, Livingston was a 2022 L-L League All-Star, a three-year varsity starter, and team captain. Livingston was also on the CV teams that qualified for districts in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Livingston is a member of the National Honor Society and plays club field hockey with X-Calibur. She intends to major in business at Kent State.

Finally, Mikyla Rineer has committed to playing field hockey at Division II Frostburg State University. Rineer, a forward for the Buckskins, led Section I in scoring this past fall and was named a 2022 L-L League First-Team All-Star, an Academic All-Star, and was on the CV teams that qualified for districts in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Rineer was also named a 2022 L-L League All-Star in lacrosse. Rineer is a member of the Spooky Nook Field Hockey Academy. She plans to major in exercise/sport science and athletic training at Frostburg State.
